COSPLAY POLICY
We know that cosplay is an important part of the convention experience for many fans and it will always be welcome at our events. However, as our key mantra for all events is providing a positive and memorable experience for everyone attending, we ask that all attendees adhere to the following guidelines, whether they are in cosplay or not. Any violation of the below policies may result in you being asked to leave the event.
Remember that we do not have exclusive use of all areas of the hotel / venue, and you may encounter people who do not understand cosplay.
BEHAVIOUR
Be considerate and respectful of fellow Attendees. If their cosplay isn’t to your taste, or there are things you would have done differently - you don’t need to tell them! Always consider if your comments are positive and supportive. Constructive criticism is only welcome if specifically requested.
Be aware that while you may love someone’s cosplay and want to take a picture for inspiration or to show others, the cosplayer may not be comfortable with this. Always ask before taking a picture of someone and their cosplay.
Do not touch any Attendee or their cosplay without their consent. Cosplay is not implied consent to be touched by anyone. Never touch inappropriately and always ask before touching any part of a cosplay.
If a cosplay may be considered offensive to the causal observer, it will not be allowed inside the event.
PROPS
AND
WEAPONS
Props may be checked on arrival to the event. If a prop is deemed to break the following rules, the event team will not be responsible for storing it.
Realistic props may cause concern for those in public areas of the hotel who do not know about cosplay, so take this into consideration outside of the event space.

If you have concerns about your cosplay, please contact us at siren.events.uk@gmail.com to discuss.
We’re Having a Talent Show! Participants are permitted upper body nudity as a necessary part of their act (e.g., drag / burlesque), however pasties must be worn to cover nipples.
